Who we are: Our website is https://www.mbi-positiveimpact.com. Our registered name is Merit Business Institute (Pty) Ltd, owned and managed by Mark Deavall, who is also the registered information officer. Mark can be contacted on +27 82 465 5481.

We value your privacy and will not use any data you share with us for purposes other than those explicitly stated. If you email us through our contact forms on our website, we will retain that information to enable us to contact you in response to your email.
All personal data collected for the purposes of a training programme will be treated responsibly and in accordance with the Act. Attendee ID numbers are requested by us for the sole purpose of including it on the certificate that the attendee receives on successful completion of a programme. Attendees have the right to refuse disclosure of their ID numbers. You may request that any or all personal information be deleted by sending us an email. No personal information is shared with with anyone outside of Merit Business Institute.
What data do we collect?
Via our contact forms on the website:
Contact form: Name & Surname, E-mail , Phone / Mobile, Company Name, Position in Company, Information you type in your message.
Course information request forms: Name & Surname, Work Email , Mobile, Landline , Your role in the company, Information you type in your message.
Public course registration forms: Name & Surname of person making the booking, Work Email, Mobile, Landline, Company name and invoicing details, Attendee names, surnames and email addresses.
When we do training for a client:
Client: Trade name, registered name, registration number, registered address, VAT number, letterhead and/or logo of the client company.
Name, designation, telephone, email contact details, signature of authorised person(s) for purposes of completing documentation and entering into Service Level Agreements. BEE status and certificate. Any pther confidential client company information that is relevant to the training programme.
Learners/Attendees: Name & Surname, work email, mobile, landline, ID number, position/role in company, opinions, views and other written or verbal information shared with us during a training or coaching session, email, phone call, in-person meeting, assignment, questionnaire, quiz or exam.
When we use a supplier:
Trade name, registered name, registration number, registered address, VAT number, banking details, name & surname, designation, telephone, email contact details, references, BBBEE affidavit or certificate
When we use a facilitator/assessor/moderator:
Trade name, registered name, registration number, registered address, VAT registration, banking details, name & surname, CV and relevant qualification/Seta documents, telephone, email contact details,signature for Service Level Agreement.
Social media:
Any personal information provided via our social media platforms, but not in the public space, (DM, Messenger, sms, Whatsapp, LinkedIn messaging or any other platform) will be treated as confidential and will not be shared or disclosed without your explicit permission.
Other information indirectly provided:
IP address, location and any other electronic information that we may have access to during an online training session or meeting or when you access our website. We do not use tracking cookies on our website at the time of writing this policy. This policy will be updated if or when we use tracking cookies in the future.
What is our purpose in collecting personal/confidential information?
To provide you with the services that you request. To respond to your requests and enquiries. To enter into a business ontract with you. To provide you with appropriate, value-adding solutions. To manage the administrative, logistical and business processes before, during and after a training programme and to contact you for future business. To comply with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice or guidelines issued by any legal or regulatory bodies that Merit Business Institute is bound to comply with.
Security
Our website is protected with SSL encryption to minimise chances of data being intercepted in transfer to and from the server. Our websitesite is hosted by Domains.co.za (Diamatrix) and is further protected by their standard data security measures. We use a security monitoring service to add an extra layer of protection against hacking.
All other data is protected by our own firewalls and anti-virus software.
This policy will be updated as and when necessary as per the requirements of the Act.
